Apply today!About the roleThis position can offer Relocation Assistance as well as a Sign on Bonus Responsibilities--- Delivers superior environmental, health, and safety leadership to ensure no accidents, no harm to people, and no damage to the environment. Ensures compliance with all permit requirements--- Provide leadership and coaching to effectively manage personnel to execute tasks required to deliver against the business objectives for the operation--- Provide guidance and over-site to keep boiler and turbine performance at maximum levels--- Effectively organize work and projects with other departments and ensure proper and efficient daily work of all operations personnel.--- Administer and supervise studies to improve plant operations and equipment operations, and monitor the effectiveness of plant manuals and procedures, instituting changes or additions, as required--- Provide assurance of compliance with procedures through auditing--- Ensure the plant's readiness to meet unusual situations and safe, efficient day-to-day operations.--- Proficiently inspect boilers and machinery to meet plant performance targets. Manage, track, and implement established technical training programs, as required, and develop new training, as needed.--- Oversee and/or compile and present various technical reports.--- Responsible for the cleanliness and appearance of the operations areas to maintain a safe working environmentRequirements:--- The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Engineering.--- Plant operations supervisory/managerial experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.--- Experience including power plant operations or high-pressure boiler experience with a sound understanding of power plant operations--- Materials processing experience (conveyors, cranes, hoppers, etc.)--- New Jersey Boilers license and the ASME, QRO/CFO Certification is desirable, or must be able to qualify for this certification (or any other required certification) within six (6) months of employment.Preferred Qualifications:--- 10 or more years of experience in a supervisory or managerial level role in an industrial or power-generating facility--- Experience in a specialty chemical plant, environment with significant material handling, or coal-fired power plant is highly preferred--- Maintenance experience with outages, rotating and electrical generation equipment (turbine, generator, etc.)Experience in or knowledge of one or more of these:--- Electrical and control systems--- Air compressors--- Condensate pumps--- Cooling water systems--- Understanding of solid fuel combustion practices and materials handling processes--- Continuous Improvement--- Safety and Incident ManagementAdditional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:--- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, and organizational skills--- Off-hours and on-call work may be required--- Career growth oriented--- Hands-on, analytical approach--- Sharp learning curve--- Troubleshooting, Root Cause AnalysisAbout the Facility:Located in Newark, New Jersey, the Essex County Resource Recovery Facility is an award-winning Waste-to-Energy Facility that serves 22 municipalities in Essex County and the surrounding region with reliable and sustainable waste management.In addition to keeping waste out of landfills, we're committed to ensuring safe operations and minimizing environmental impacts.
